Hello!
We are Tom and Anne, and we are praying for you, the miracle inside your womb, and your decision as you choose whom you are comfortable with adopting your baby. We believe God has a plan for each one of our lives and already knows the outcome of your child’s future. We feel certain God will direct us to the child He has planned for us, whether your child or another. Our intent is not to pressure you but rather give you information about us so you can make your decision peacefully. We stand in awe of your courageous decision of love for your child. We will continue to pray for you and your decisions during this difficult situation that you will feel a peace that will direct you. Jeremiah 1:5 God said “Before I formed you in the womb, I knew you.”
Our beginnings...
We met each other at age 19 and were introduced by Tom’s friend Jack and Anne’s friend Jill who was a couple then. While Jack and Jill tumbled down the hill ending their relationship, we were married two years later in 1984 which brings the total years married to 26. Through our years of marriage, we have learned to communicate, respecting our differences. We both desire to give and receive love and understanding to each other. Although we are both two entirely different people, and have experienced some bumps along the way like any marriage. One goal remains to be committed to each other seeking Gods help through our Christian faith in our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Our greatest desire is to love and raise a child and be a family.
Why adopt...
We wish to adopt in order to bless a child in need of a home and become blessed as parents to give our love and continue the circle of life. We look forward to sharing our life as a family instead of a couple. Attempts at fertility treatments and involvement with two foster agencies have left us childless, thus far, and yet still again we are believing our God has something precious for us in His perfect timing, not ours. We are claiming this scripture verse: Psalms 46:10 “Be still and know that I am God!”
We have seen the blessings of friends and family adopt children of all ages, from infancy to 6 years old, all beautiful experiences that have enriched all our hearts. Anne has experienced adoption personally as she was also adopted along with her adopted brother, Britt. Both were told of their adoptions as soon as they could understand. Anne has always wanted to have adopted children due to her own positive experience growing up in such a loving family.
We have included 2 videos at the end of our webpage for you to view. They brought tears to our eyes. Mark Shultz, a Christian song writer, wrote a song to his birthmother who he never met thanking her for his life as he knows it. Just beautiful. The other video is Mark telling and sharing how this song came to be. Hope you enjoy it and are just as touched.
Tom...
Tom is a hard -working man with a quick dry wit, and is committed to all his passions. A carpenter by trade, Tom has built homes prior to his current job as a Home Inspector. Our home has seen many improvements with Tom’s handy work, and he can’t wait till the day he can build our child a play gym in the backyard. Tom has a love for the outdoors while enjoying sports: hunting with bow and arrow, fishing, and riding his Harley Davidson. He thoroughly enjoys teasing his nieces and nephews and melts when our friends little girl and youngest neice wants him to play Hide and Seek. Tom’s compassion runs deep as evident when he tried to pull a woman from her burning car. I was first attracted to Tom’s smile and funny personality, then quickly noticed his ability to defend and protect under pressure. I trust my husband with my life and know he would be a great father!
Anne...
Anne is compassionate, creative and very down to earth. She has worked as a Hair Stylist, Decorative Painter, and currently is a Nurse working at a Wellness Center. Our home is filled with Anne’s artwork -- stencils, quote letterings, faux finishes that look like stone walls, along with homemade window treatments. Anne will make a fantastic mother because she is loving, kind, and patient as evident with her natural ability to teach and the love she has for her nieces and nephews. Once we are blessed with a child, Anne may continue to work part time, no more than 2 days week, and only time will really tell if she desires to be away from someone so precious at all. Many close friends and family members are determined to help out and share all their baby knowledge and years of practice. We are so looking forward to sharing parenthood together!
Home sweet home...
We live in the beautiful Pocono Mountains of Pennsylvania in a 4-bedroom, 2.5-bath two-story home with an in-ground pool in our back yard. We love our neighbors and our front view is more than average with a summer sunset to die for over the mountains and valley. We have many good toboggan trails within a mile from home for winter fun. Our school district is credited for its academics and is within 2 miles of our home. We are located 2 hours from New York City, Philadelphia, and New Jersey, and a short distance for day trips to museums, Broadway plays, outlet shopping, baseball games, amusement parks, and zoos.
We love animals, and share our home with Petunia (“Petie”), our 16 yr old grey striped tabby cat whom we adore and love to pieces. She is very friendly and loves lots of hugs almost as much as we love to give them.
Families & friends...
Everyone is so supportive and just as excited as we are about adopting a child into our family and circle of friends! On Anne’s side, her mom will be a first-time Grandma, and her brother will be a first-time uncle! In Tom’s family, we will bring up the caboose of the 10th grandchild (ages 3 to 20 yrs old). Tom’s sister lives locally with her husband and 5 children, and Tom’s brother lives in North Carolina with his wife and 4 children. Lots of playing time and playmates are waiting for our child with relatives and cousins from Pennsylvania, North Carolina, Florida, and wherever fun takes us. Our next door neighbors of 15 years are like family to us. We have watched their children grow to have children of their own. Our baby will not lack love from supportive friends or family. We have so much love and support from everyone, cheering us on as we wait on God and the little person He will ultimately send our way.
Our fun times...
We both love to cook and grill. Italian meals are our specialty. We love the cooking channel, copying recipes from the internet, reproducing the meal, then trying it on others. Tom makes the best cheesecake ever! In winter, we love visiting New York City to catch a Christmas show, go shopping, or take a horse and buggy ride in Central Park. When warm weather arrives, we take peaceful rides on the motorcycle or visit a beach, any beach, whether in New Jersey or Florida. Anne’s Mom lives in Florida, where we travel yearly for a spring vacation and every other year at Christmas. For the last 13 years, we have traveled to the New Jersey shore every summer with our cousins and their family. We can‘t wait to share our love of the beach with our child. Our baby will be a part of all we already love and love to do. Our fun times will be more fun with someone special to share it all with.
Our faith...
We are Christians and attend a non-denominational community church where Tom is an usher and Anne has been involved in the worship team, helped co-lead women’s groups, and volunteers at the coffee café. Both Tom and Anne enjoy feeding the homeless with good friends on a monthly basis. We believe scripture to be the inerrant Word of God, and have a relationship with our Lord Jesus Christ by putting our faith and trust in Him. Our church is known for their wonderful children classes/ministries. We attend weekly services on Sunday mornings where we sit next to Tom’s family and continue family time after church to a local diner for breakfast or a home cooked family dinner.
Our promises & open adoption...
We promise to love and encourage your child to follow their dreams, be truthful and respectful of others, and cultivate their God-given talents to be the person they were meant to be. We promise to provide a safe and stable environment for your child to grow and feel loved. If chosen, we’ll continue seeking God's wisdom in all things pertaining to raising an adopted child. We promise to tell this child of your love and their adoption story from the day he/she is placed in our arms, and whenever the chance presents itself. We embrace open adoption, and are willing to discuss with you the type of openness you desire. We want you to be at peace knowing your child is safe, loved and happy, and are willing to share letters and photos over the years if that is your wish.
Thank you!
